I've loved words for as long as I can remember — passing them on, exploring them, using them to build bridges between people.
Modern languages have been part of my life since childhood.
After training as a linguist and spending several years teaching languages, in France and then the UK, I left everything behind to settle in Norway. I now live in Bergen, on the west coast. I've spent over ten years there translating books from English and Norwegian. The profession has changed a great deal with the arrival of artificial intelligence, and I chose to move with that change rather than fight it. Today I put my command of languages to work on more focused projects, in culture and publishing.
I offer technical and literary translation services from English and Norwegian, integrating artificial intelligence into terminology research, translation, proofreading and project management. My background as a copywriter rounds out this work: I know how to shape a text so it lands, not just translate it. See my services →
Culture drives me, but it's not the only thing. Architect, art historian, archaeologist, Spanish teacher in Latin America: that's what I used to answer, in secondary school, when asked what I wanted to do when I grew up.
Culture, multilingualism and an atypical way of thinking run through my life like a thread. This way of thinking lets me see structure where others see only disorder. It's what drew me to systems, to the way we organise our thoughts, and to tools like Notion.
